Undergoing cancer treatment in childhood is hard enough. Lifelong infertility and hormone dysfunction resulting from treatment compound the challenges faced by survivors. Lurie Children’s researchers are leading the creation of a 3D printed, bioengineered ovary, using a patient’s own cells. With further research, we may be able to provide childhood cancer survivors a chance at a healthier future.
